Maximizing 24/7 Broadcast Uptime
Continuous 24/7 playlist looping requires specialized configuration. Unlike short streams, long broadcasts demand high CPU efficiency and stable bandwidth usage. Here is our checklist of the best settings for continuous streams.
Optimal Stream Configurations
1. Resolution & Framerate
Stick to 1080p (1920x1080) at 30fps. Streaming at 60fps doubles processing demand and network upload requirements, increasing the likelihood of failure.
2. Video Bitrate
Set your video bitrate between 4,000 and 4,500 Kbps. This provides excellent full HD clarity while maintaining low network overhead.
3. Encoder Presets
Use the veryfast preset in libx264. This minimizes CPU encoding time and keeps temperatures low. If your server has an NVIDIA graphics card, use NVENC acceleration.
Local RTMP Buffer Server
Use a direct secure ingest path unless your broadcast architecture has a clear need for an independently monitored relay. Every extra service adds another possible failure point.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which resolution is best for 24/7 streams?
1080p Full HD at 30fps is the sweet spot for visual quality and encoder stability.
Should I stream at 60fps?
For pre-recorded loops, 30fps is recommended as it halves bandwidth and CPU resources, increasing uptime stability.
